Jharkhand Free LPG Cylinders Refill to PM Ujjwala Yojana (PMUY) Beneficiaries

Jharkhand govt. is going to start the process of Free LPG Cylinders Refill to beneficiaries of Pradhan Mantri Ujjwala Yojana (PMUY). The state govt. will also start distribution of 12 lakh new LPG connections from 23 August 2019. People would be able to get free refill of their gas cylinders received under the flagship PMUY Scheme. PM Ujjwala Yojana is a flagship scheme of the central govt. to get rid of unclean cooking fuels.

Various non-communicable diseases such as heart disease, stroke, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease and lung cancer are also prevented through this PMUY scheme. The state govt. has already provided LPG connections to BPL households to ensure universal coverage of cooking gas in the country. Moreover, PMUY Scheme has empowered women and even protects their health.

So, to ensure that people continue to use LPG gas cylinders given under PMUY scheme, govt. will now provide free LPG gas cylinder refills.

Jharkhand Free LPG Cylinders Refill to PMUY Beneficiaries

All the beneficiaries of the flagship Pradhan Mantri Ujjwala Yojana (PMUY) scheme in Jharkhand can now avail a free refill of their LPG cylinders. The state govt. of Jharkhand claims that this is a first-of-its-kind initiative in the country. Jharkhand govt. will start process of refill of cylinders along with distribution of 12 lakh new LPG gas connections.

The process of Jhakhand Free LPG Cylinders Refill to PMUY beneficiaries will start from 23 August 2019 across the state. Jharkhand is the only state in India where beneficiaries of PMUY scheme are given free ovens and filled cylinders during distribution of LPG gas connections. Now, people can refill their cylinders for free.

Since the launch of PMUY scheme in Jharkhand in 2016, around 31 lakh free LPG gas connections have already been distributed in the Jharkhand state.

The PMUY scheme aims to replace the hazardous cooking fuels used in rural India with clean and efficient LPG fuel. All the families living below poverty line (BPL) are the beneficiaries of PM Ujjwala Yojana. For more details, visit the official website at https://pmuy.gov.in/
